I have tried repeatedly to take a picture of my eyes. I can confirm it is, with the equipment I have to hand, nigh on impossible. Certainly impossible to demonstrate the mascara on my eyes. And what it isn’t doing.
It is meant to be a “perfect complement to a smokey eye look, this kohl-pigmented mascara delivers high drama by creating extremely black, stretched-out lashes in an instant.” On me it is not. It creates no drama, not even low level stress. It does not make my eye lashes stretched in an instant, and it is the same level of black as every other mascara I’ve used.
On the Bobbi Brown website there are 80 broadly complementary reviews of this product, so I am aware that the problem might be me. Me, though is the one making the decision about how to spend my money, and while it does live up to the non-flaking part of the claim, it doesn’t feel four times better than the cheap mascara I have on today. Which is what it costs.
In its defence it doesn’t manically clump like Eyeko’s Lash Drama does, but again it isn’t so significantly better as to justify the price.
The pursuit of the mythical perfect mascara continues…
